For the past 5 years, Ed has worked with startups in the FinTech, Online Media, EdTech, & Healthcare industries to optimize use of AI & cloud infrastructures and develop governance programs to manage risk and support auditable and certifiable Information Security programs.
During his tenure as Chief Information Officer at World Education Services (WES), Ed successfully transformed & then managed a global Technology function with a $10 million annual budget and a staff of over 35, operating across North America & Asia. He was the architect of a multi-year technology refresh that modernized the infrastructure, transitioning critical systems from on-premises to SaaS and Cloud environments to support sustained double-digit revenue growth. Critically, he also initiated the company's first formal cybersecurity and business continuity programs, ensuring seamless transition to remote work and achieving outstanding performance in annual technology audits.
Ed's deep expertise in managing high-stakes, 24/7 environments is further underscored by his director and manager roles at major institutions like Mount Sinai Health System and NYU Langone Medical Center. There, he was responsible for foundational technology infrastructure supporting over 36,000 health system employees and led the integration of newly acquired medical practices, ensuring compliance with federal regulations including HIPAA.
