Martin Ryan

Martin Ryan the Founder of Renew Technology Advisors and serves as a Fractional CTO and CISO, helping organizations strengthen their technology infrastructure and cybersecurity foundations. Since starting Renew in 2014, we have provided CIO, CTO, and CISO leadership on a fractional basis—helping businesses modernize IT operations, improve resiliency, reduce risk, and align technology with strategic goals.

With 25 years of experience in the technology field, Martin brings deep expertise in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, vendor management, and operational excellence. For nearly 14 years, Martin was part of the technology team at MSD Capital, the private investment firm of Michael Dell, where he led as Director of IT Infrastructure, Operations, and Cybersecurity. In that role, he oversaw platform selection, implementation, and management of core technology systems across the firm, reporting to the Chief Information Officer.

Since founding Renew Technology Advisors, he has worked with asset management firms, portfolio companies across varying industries, and growth-stage businesses as a trusted advisor and Fractional Executive. His work bridges strategy and execution, ensuring their cybersecurity programs are effectively established and operated, and their technology investments deliver lasting impact.

Originally from Ireland, Martin moved to New York in 2000 with two bags of clothes and $1,000 and has since built a rewarding career and family life. He is a proud father to three amazing children: 16, 14, and 10 years old. Martin says being their dad is the best part of every day.
